How It Works: turning Views into Forests
The Economics of Attention
It sounds like magic, but it's just math. Here is the breakdown of how our model works:
1. The CPM Model
Advertisers pay on a "Cost Per Mille" (CPM) basis, meaning the cost per 1,000 views. For video ads in Tier 1 countries (US, UK, CA, etc.), this can range from $10 to $30.
2. The Pooling Effect
One person watching one ad creates a tiny amount of value (a few cents). But when 1,000 people watch an ad, that value becomes significant ($10-$30). We pool everyone's viewing activity into a single "Global Tree Fund".
3. The Cost of a Tree
We partner with large-scale reforestation organizations. Because they plant millions of trees, they get economies of scale. The average cost to plant, protect, and monitor one tree is often between $0.50 and $1.00.
The Formula
250-500 Ads Watched = 1 Real Tree Planted.
This number fluctuates based on ad market rates, but it gives us a concrete goal. Every time you watch an ad, you are chipping away at that number.
